Uncertainty Avoidance
This dimension measures a culture's tolerance for ambiguity. Individuals from higher uncertainty avoidance cultures have little tolerance for ambiguity while those from lower uncertainty avoidance cultures may even embrace it.
UNCERTAINTY AVOIDANCE & POWER DISTANCE
Uncertainty avoidance and Power Distance are both measures defines by (Hofstede, 1985) in his famous study based on questionnaire data from IBM employees in over 50 different countries.
Power Distance
Members of a higher power distance cultures accept and expect more unequal distributions of power within organisations and institutions. Thise from lower power distance cultures expect more equality.
